What to expect: Your contact lens journey

We share the answers to a few commonly asked questions below, but if you would like anything clarifying before booking an appointment, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Initial consultation

We start by learning about your vision, lifestyle and what you want from contact lenses. This helps us understand your goals and recommend suitable options.

Eye health and tear film check

Our optometrists examine the surface of your eyes and assess your tear film to make sure contact lenses are a safe and comfortable choice for you.

Trial lenses and fitting

We select trial lenses based on your prescription and eye shape. You’ll try them on in practice so we can check movement, comfort and fit.

Teaching and guidance

If you’re new to contact lenses, we show you how to insert and remove them safely, as well as how to care for your lenses and keep your eyes healthy.

Follow-up appointment

We invite you back after your trial period to review comfort, clarity and lens performance. This ensures your lenses suit you and your eyes remain healthy.

Ongoing support

We’re here whenever you need us, whether it’s an update to your lenses, advice on switching to another type or help with any concerns.

Ortho-K lenses for myopia management

For suitable patients, we also offer Orthokeratology (Ortho-K), (link to myopia management page) a specially designed night-time lens worn while you sleep. These lenses gently reshape the surface of the eye overnight, giving clear vision during the day without glasses or contact lenses.

Night-time contact lenses are a popular option for myopia management (link to myopia management page), particularly for children whose short-sight may be progressing.
